Detective Short Girl

I forgot to tell you when i was detective for a day.
We hired a new girl at work.
being the curious person i am,
i wondered what she looked like?
so i did what any normal person would do and googled her.
i was expecting a facebook page or a myspace page or something along those lines to pop up.
but what did pop up?
websites and news articles saying she was an endangered runaway!
a missing person!
i had no idea if this was her.
i thought, maybe they just have the same name.
i text my boss and said hey check this out.
is this her?
and sure enough it was.
i had just solved a missing persons case.
or so i thought.
we called the missing  persons hotline and she was off the list.
even though the case had already been solved,
i still consider myself a detective.

so lesson of the day:
google everyone you know and see what comes up :)

Daylight Savings

Thanks to benjamin franklin,
we have this wonderful thing called Day light savings.
its really not that wonderful.
89% of what i just said was sarcasm.
its throwing me off so bad.
it is 6:41 as i am writing this and the sun is still in the sky.
hasn't even begin to set.
it feels like its 5:00 and i have another 2 hours of working when really i'm off in 19 minutes.
now 18.
Dear Utah people,
can we please get rid of daylight savings and just be normal?
with much thanks,
The Short Girl

Sister Night!

On the 12th,
it was my oldest sister brittany's birthday.
she turned 24! i still think of her as 18.
her husband was in vegas as he is every year watching the college basketball games.
so me and my sister took  her out to dinner at California Pizza Kitchen.
It was delicious!
i payed for myself which is the first time ever.
(i'm one of the youngest so usually someone pays for me)
i even used my debit card.
i felt so adult.
I had a delcious  garlic cream pasta.
cost me a whoppin $17.
but it was dang good.
we then went home and sat on our laptops while we watched the princess and the frog on brittanys bed where we all fell asleep.
true sister love.

In honor of her birthday i'll write a little snip it of her.
She is my favorite sister.
(i know we aren't suppose to have favorites but i do)
she is so kind to everyone.
she is always there for her friends and family.
she is always wanting to know whats going on with us and loves to be close with us.
i love and her and her husband buddy live with us.
its so much fun!
without her living with us,
i'd have no clothes.
i hate  shopping and she loves it.
so when she gets new clothes,
that means i get new clothes.
i know she gets annoyed of me wearing them but she's so nice and kind that she lets me to continue borrowing them.
once she moves out i'm screwed with clothing.
i'll really have to go shopping then.

p.s. i have the best family!

Every girl does it..

I'm a girl.
I like to think my future is all planned out.
Want to hear my plan?
I'll get married around 22, 23 to a husband i love and one who adores and spoils me
a real gentleman too.
We will be married in the San Diego temple (my favorite) and have a beach sunset reception.
We will live in california next to the ocean and play there all the time.
We will have a BIG family since i love kids.
probably 5 or 6.
3 boys and two girls or 3 boys and 3 girls.
What are the names?
Boys will be Bentley James, Deakon Mabry, and Owen Gardner.
As for the girls,
i love the name Charlotte "Charlie" Anne.
Second name is Sadie Lynn.
and third is Emmery Lee
We will be one big happily family!
i'm going to be so excited when this part of my life starts to happen.
i've always wanted to be a wife and mom.
i'm going to cook breakfast every morning and make the best sack lunches.
also the best dinners.
i want my kids to be so involved and have the chance to try everything.
i know my husband will be the best and i'll love him to pieces!

What was i thinking?

One day i felt generous.
Very generous!
My boss at work is dead broke.
him and his wife never go out because they can't pay for a babysitter.
so one day at work i said "hey, i need some hours to get a thing for Personal Progress(which i already have completed). if you need a free babysitter let me know."
oh he has let me know.
every weekend i have babysat.
twice this week.
and now i'm thinking why did i do this?
so instead of going out and having a good time with friends,
i am changing poopy diapers, listening to kids fight over the x box, and trying to get the baby to stop crying.
oh joy!

Mummies

Today in seminary,
us as a council put together a temple day to teach everyone about temples.
You would think the main thing i got out of it would be about temples, right?
You are wrong.
The thing i took with me this lesson was about mummies.
Did you know, the church bought 4 mummies in the 1830's?
i sure didn't and i think its pretty sweet.
Thats the furthest thing i would ever imagine the church buying.
i did some research and i found this story here.
its says...
In the late 1820s an Italian explorer named Antonio Lebolo obtained eleven mummies from an ancient tomb in Egypt. When Lebolo died the mummies were shipped to the United States. A man named Michael Chandler came into possession of the mummies in 1833. He opened the coffins (the boxes the mummies were in) and was disappointed not to find jewels or valuable treasures. Attached to some of the bodies of the mummies were linen cloths containing rolls of papyrus, a type of paper made from plants. These papyrus rolls had Egyptian writing on them. Mr. Chandler took the rolls to Pennsylvania, where he tried to find some educated men to tell him about the writings, but even the most educated of these men were only able to understand a little of the writings.
Mr. Chandler decided to travel around the country showing people the mummies, and in the summer of 1835 he came to Kirtland, Ohio. There he met with Joseph Smith, who told him that the writings could be interpreted. Later some friends of the Prophet bought four mummies and the rolls of papyrus from Mr. Chandler. Joseph Smith studied the letters and grammar of the Egyptian language, and then, with the help of the Holy Ghost, he translated the writings on the papyrus rolls. The writings Joseph Smith translated tell about the ancient prophet Abraham and are now published as the book of Abraham in the Pearl of Great Price.

Pretty sweet huh?
now my only question is
where are they?
did we throw them away?
lock them up?
bury them back east?
took them over the plains in a wagon and locked them up in the vault in the mountain?
how creepy would that be?
making the trek with four mummies?

Accents aren't always hott

About two weeks ago,
a really cute boy came into my work.
He asked for my number
He had an accent (SCORE!)
He was a real gentleman.
Never text me to ask me on a date, always called.
He came with me and my cousins i was watching to nickelcade and we had a really good time.
I wasn't quite sure about him so on our next date,
we doubled with my friends codee and cole.
We went to Outback steak house and saw the movie just go with it.
So far things were going great,
until we were at dinner talking about races and he openly admit he's a racist and can't stand black people.
This bothered me because for me,
color doesn't mean a thing.
Thats how i was raised.
dinner was alright.
He talked about himself the WHOLE time
and when he wasn't talking about himself he was dissing on my country.
I was also raised in a very patriotic family.
so dissing on this country makes me very mad.
even if our president is dumb.
And this part, was the most ridiculous.
during the movie girls would be in bikinis.
he would prr, like a cat, very loudly, at the movie screen.
and he had an obnoxious laugh.
lets just say i was so glad that date was done!
and i haven't talked to him since
